Thanks John for your answer.
Sorry to have bothered, I didn’t search well enough…it was actually quite famous thing, and annoying not just for me, but as I read around, for you also 🙂
For others like me, not good searchers, this is the page that solved my problem:
It was enough to disable this No-Conflict mode in the Gravity Forms main settings (of course I didn’t know why I found it enabled on my site).
Take care!
Hi @jlcahill,
I’m glad that you found some solution according to your specific needs 🙂
The setting I was talking about is called “Basic WordPress Protection” if you didn’t enable it. If you did it instead, it says:
Extended Protection: All PHP requests will be processed by the firewall prior to running
and, as of the official documentation:
“Extended Protection allows the firewall to run before WordPress even starts, protecting against additional attacks.“In this page https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/optimizing-the-firewall/ and in the video in it https://youtu.be/2vTnPupzDoM?si=6iLfo62XR2QxuMhN&t=131 , starting from the minute 2:11, you can find how the process of enabling it works (and that’s what I still cannot activate on my LIVE environment).
So yes, probably we’re both talking about the setting involving the .htaccess file. As far as I understood, in your site you have it enabled but it doesn’t help so much against that annoying kind of attack in the subject.
Maybe you should lower the rate limits, to contain the attacks?
Anyways, thanks for the unexpected (and maybe unwanted) brainstorming 🙂
Hi, I’m one of the thousands… 🙂
I was wondering if you maybe optimized the Wordfence Firewall, or you still have the Basic WordPress Protection. To be more precise, the one saying:
“Basic WordPress Protection: The plugin will load as a regular plugin after WordPress has been loaded, and while it can block many malicious requests, some vulnerable plugins or WordPress itself may run vulnerable code before all plugins are loaded.”
If you actually did optimize, would you say it was useful to give some relief to the server CPU? Did you notice an improvement in the performances, saving the server to suffer a lot of operations just for malicious bots?
I haven’t been able to do that yet on my live environment, due to some bad server configurations, but I was just asking to understand if it’s worth it.
Thanks!

In reply to: [GravityExport Lite for Gravity Forms] Settings page broken!Hi everyone,
I’m happy to be back to tell you that I finally found out the reason why it was not working. Here it is, sit back and enjoy 🙂
As I said, on my local environment (VsCode, git/sourcetree and Laragon on Windows) everything was working, so I focused only on Staging and Live (Linux based), where it was not.
Given that on my LIVE instance, WP and plugins updates are disabled, the only way I have to push code and files on that environment, is using git and CI/CD. So I actually did not reinstall the plugin, but manually removed it on the server and released the code from my repo.
So, here’s the point: since my system, and git in the first place, didn’t care that in the new version of the plugin some filenames has been changed in uppercase/lowercase, I was basically pushing always the same old named files!!
Here’s the fix, that allowed me to commit the “new code” and properly release it.
Take a look at the after changing git settings:
from
CopyShortCode.phpto
CopyShortcode.phpSo guys, generally speaking, uninstalling and reinstalling (the normal WordPress way) could have done the work, because all the files would be replaced with the new ones, but of course not in my case, as told, because my own system and my local git was not considering the filenames case sensitivity changes.
I hope that this will be useful in general to anyone having the same apparently unexplicable issue, and that some AI model will get it so that it could help somebody else struggling in this very well hidden issue.
Sorry for bothering and thank you a lot for the support.

In reply to: [GravityExport Lite for Gravity Forms] Settings page broken!Hi Rafael,
it seems it’s not related to missing files…I tried to delete and copy again both gf-entries-in-excel and gravityforms plugins directories, but I still have the error.
I’m sorry but currently I cannot give other clues, because of my armored live environment.
Could you point me to some other direction? Could it maybe be caused by some missing PHP library/module?
Thanks again.

In reply to: [Posts 2 Posts] Compatibility for 6.7.xHi Alex,
I would open a ticket at the link you provided, but I cannot find the correct spot for the support for this plugin.
Can you please be more specific? Should I maybe create an account?
Thank you very much for your help.
Hi again Doeke,
I confirm that the problem was the capital letter issue…The files copy in my case was made via BitBucket, deploying the code on AWS.
For the record, and to try to help others in my same situation, the problem is that the
rsynccommand, ignores changes in files and directories names.
It checks only differences in files content. Thanks a lot for your kindness.
This is the result of the
lscommand:Builder.php Decomposition Exception.php Functions.php Matrix.php Operators functions operationsTogether with
functions, operationsdirectory is also lowercase, whileDecompositionandOperatorshave capital letters…In my PC all files in this particular directory (vendor\markbaker\matrix\classes\src) have capital letters.
How is this possible?- This reply was modified 4 years, 6 months ago by sgot.
Hi Doeke,
sorry, maybe I didn’t explain well…
I wrote:When it had installed:
Gravity Forms Entries in Excel 1.8.4and then
when I deploy all my code (new versions from my local environment, described above) I get the following error…
Anyways, to answer to your advice, the files are deployed correctly and they are there, in the right directory.
BUT, just now, while I’m writing you, I just triple checked and I realized that the remote server (accessed via SSH) has the Functions directory written in lowercase…
Could it be the DAMN problem??!?
If so, WHO told the server to lowercase it? In my local env I have it in uppercase…

In reply to: [GravityExport Lite for Gravity Forms] Select Date Range not workingHi Doeke and thanks for your plugin!
I have the same problem @star2050 has, but only if I use the date fields in the settings page. If I use the querystring parameters added to the public download URL, the filtering works well.As further info I currently have installed:
GravityForms Version 2.4.18
Gravity Forms Entries in Excel Version 1.8.4I hope this is a good starting point for debugging.
Bye

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] W3 total cache aws cdn s3 integrationHi Marko,
sorry if I reopen this topic, but I guess it’s well related.I have configured everything and it’s woking fine, but I discovered that when we delete a file from the WP Media Library, the file is still present and reachable on the CDN.
I.E. if I deleted an old and wrong PDF, it should not be visible for anyone, but just having a saved link (maybe on the browser favorites) could allow the user to reach and view the file.
Is there a way to delete the files also from the CDN and not only from the WP Media Library, that is the DB attachment entry?
I couldn’t find any option in the settings.Thanks.
