In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Upload images to gallery from DropboxUnfortunately, the current version of the gallery doesn’t support importing images directly from Dropbox. However, we have exciting plans for Robo Gallery 5, which will introduce new content sources, including Dropbox, OneDrive, and several other platforms.
After the release of Robo Gallery 5, we’ll also be launching some highly requested features. One of them is the gallery conversion option, which allows you to convert one gallery type to another with just a click, saving you the hassle of manual reconfiguration.
Another useful tool in the new version is the Robo Bulk Uploader. This tool will allow you to import photos directly from your server directory to your gallery with a single click. All you need to do is create a folder on your server, upload photos via FTP/SFTP, and then import them into your gallery.
What makes this even more powerful is the new Bulk Uploader configuration file. You can customize individual parameters for each image, including titles, captions, descriptions, tags, links, and video links. These details will be automatically added to the gallery images during the import process, which is a huge time-saver.
We’re really excited about these upcoming updates, and we think they’ll make managing your galleries much more efficient. If you have any other questions or need further details, feel free to ask!
Currently, the gallery doesn’t have a built-in comments section in the lightbox. However, we’re excited to announce that in the upcoming release of Robo Gallery 5, we’ll be introducing support for comments and photo ratings. The first version of Robo Gallery 5 will be released in just a few days, and comments will be fully implemented in the following month.
So, if you’re looking to add this feature, I recommend keeping an eye out for the release of Robo Gallery 5. If you have any more questions or need help with anything else in the meantime, feel free to reach out! We’re happy to assist.
You can definitely customize the background and overlay effects in the gallery settings. For example, you can adjust the thumbnails overlay in the Hover Settings, modify the general gallery background in the General Settings, and change the lightbox overlay in the Lightbox Settings. These options will give you control over the basic overlay styles and background settings.
If you want more precise control over colors, opacity, or animations, you can add custom styles using the Custom CSS field that’s available in each gallery. For instance, you could create a smooth fade-in effect with a text overlay on hover by adding a few CSS rules. This would allow the overlay to appear gradually with a custom background color, opacity, and text.
Feel free to give it a try, and if you need any further assistance or adjustments, just let us know! We’re happy to help!
It sounds like there might be a conflict with your theme or another plugin. To troubleshoot, try enabling the Gallery Compatibility settings in the General Gallery Settings, then clear your cache and check if the lightbox starts working as expected.
If the issue persists, you might also want to temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four) and disable other plugins one by one to identify any conflicts. Let us know if you need further assistance we’re happy to help!
Thanks for reaching out! The issue may be related to the format of the YouTube links. If you’re using newer or shortened YouTube URLs, some of them might not be fully supported yet. Please share a few examples with us, and we’ll test them. If needed, we’ll update the plugin to support these formats.
Our gallery supports two video modes. You can create a dedicated YouTube gallery using the gallery wizard, or you can add YouTube links to other gallery types, such as Masonry, Mosaic, or Regular Grid. If you’re using YouTube links in these general gallery types, no special configuration is required. However, if you’re using the YouTube Gallery type, you’ll need to add your YouTube API key in the gallery’s general settings.
For autoplay, YouTube videos do not automatically start playing in lightbox mode due to browser restrictions, but you can enable the autoplay option in the settings to see if it works within your setup. Let us know if you need any help, we’re happy to assist!

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Shortcode for gallery does nothingThanks for reaching out! It sounds like the issue might be related to caching. Could you try temporarily disabling gallery cache and turning off any other caching plugins to see if that resolves the problem?
Additionally, I recommend enabling the compatibility settings in the general gallery settings and then checking if the gallery displays correctly. If the issue persists, let us know, and we’ll be happy to help troubleshoot further!
Yes, you can definitely use both linked images and the lightbox feature within the same gallery. It’s also possible to mix link and zoom buttons on the thumbnails, giving you more flexibility in how users interact with your gallery.
With the upcoming release of Robo Gallery 5, we’re introducing the new Polaroid gallery style, which is especially useful for portfolio galleries. This update will include stylish icons for zoom, direct links, and social sharing, making it even easier to customize your gallery exactly how you want.

You’re absolutely right. We had to temporarily remove support for <em> tags due to WordPress security requirements. However, I have good news. In just a few days, we’ll be releasing Robo Gallery 5.0, which comes with a brand-new grid system, updated albums, enhanced hover effects, new social sharing options, and an improved Polaroid gallery with customizable content panels on the left, right, top, and bottom. This update will also restore support for <em> tags in descriptions, so your captions will display correctly again.
I really appreciate you sticking with us, and I hope this upcoming update makes things much easier for you. Let us know if you have any other questions. We’re happy to help!

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Grid Layout QuestionThank you so much for your kind words!
By default, each gallery theme comes with pre-defined margins, but you can adjust them in the advanced settings. The number of columns is also customizable depending on the theme you’re using.
That said, we’ve got some great news! In just a few days, we’ll be releasing Robo Gallery 5.0, which includes a brand-new grid system. This update will make it even easier to customize spacing and shadows directly from the basic settings.
Keep an eye out for the update, and let us know if you have any other questions. We’re happy to help!

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Custom sorting for gallery imagesGreat question! In the General Gallery Settings, you’ll find options to manage the sorting method. You can choose random sorting or manually arrange images based on the order set in the Media Manager.
For large galleries, manually dragging and dropping can be a bit cumbersome. A more efficient way to organize them is to use the Media Manager’s ordering feature, where you can arrange images in the desired order and then apply that order in the gallery settings.
If you need more flexibility, let us know what specific sorting method you’re looking for, and we’d be happy to explore other solutions with you!

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Customizing gallery stylesGreat to hear that you’re customizing your gallery to match your site’s branding! You’ll find a variety of options in the Gallery Settings to adjust colors, styles, and layouts directly from the admin panel.
If you need more advanced customization, each gallery has dedicated fields where you can add custom CSS and JavaScript. This allows you to apply additional styling beyond what’s available in the settings.
If your custom CSS isn’t applying, it might be due to caching or specificity issues. Try adding !important to your CSS rules or checking if another theme or plugin is overriding your styles. Also, ensure that your custom styles are placed in the gallery’s Custom CSS field or added to your theme’s Additional CSS section in the WordPress Customizer.

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Adjusting gallery marginsYou can adjust the spacing between thumbnails in the Gallery Settings, where you’ll find options to modify padding and margins within the gallery grid.
If you’re still seeing extra space around the gallery, it could be caused by margin settings in your WordPress theme. Sometimes, the container where the gallery is placed has default margins that add extra spacing.
If you’d like, feel free to share a link to your gallery page, and we’ll take a look at the page’s source code to pinpoint the issue and suggest the best solution!

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] Cannot create a new galleryThanks for reaching out! If the “Create Gallery” button isn’t responding, the most likely cause is a conflict with another plugin, theme, or admin customization affecting the WordPress dashboard.
Our plugin is fully compatible with core WordPress functionality, but some third-party admin tools, custom themes, or security plugins may interfere with its operation. I’d recommend temporarily disabling any admin customizations or plugins that modify the WordPress dashboard to see if that resolves the issue.
If the problem persists, could you check for any JavaScript errors in the browser console (by pressing F12 > Console tab) and let us know if you see any warnings? Also, feel free to share any details about your WordPress setup, and we’d be happy to help troubleshoot further!
