In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] Support for roll-up for multisite networkhi @jmzolezzi!
you should be able to add a comma separated list of data-domains to the domain field in the plugin. that basically does what the roll up requires
you wouldn’t be able to use the different automated features within our plugin though as you wouldn’t be able to insert the plugin token when you use multiple domains. so alternatively, you could try to enable different features first for the main site and then try to change the domain field to add the additional roll-up domains
in the future, we will support creation of roll-ups directly in the UI so this extra manual setup in the plugin wouldn’t be required. you can follow our progress on this here. thanks!

In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] Plugin stops collecting data when Proxy is ONsorry for the trouble with the proxy @niharikaverma95!
many problems with proxy activation are due to restrictive firewall or security settings, where for instance PHP may not be allowed to fetch and copy external resources to the server or similar issues. this is unfortunately difficult for us to troubleshoot or solve from our side
we have listed the most common causes of issues with the proxy and actions you can try to take here: https://plausible.io/wordpress-analytics-plugin#stats-not-being-recorded-after-enabling-the-proxy. we’ve recently updated that list too so please do have another look
note also that you can continue running the plugin without the proxy. all the other features will function all fine. you just won’t record some of the visitors if they use an adblocker. and as an alternative there’s also the option to not use the plugin but to manually set up a different proxy such as the Cloudflare one
I hope this helps, thanks!
@g4ll4is as Daan explained this would be better changed in Email Encoder Pro directly as for us this would mean a bigger change that would impact several things about how our product works currently. so from our perspective, we don’t plan to make any changes at this moment. sorry for the trouble!
some of the more advanced and/or business features such as funnels, e-commerce revenue, sites API and advanced bot filtering are not available in the Community Edition (CE) unfortunately. there’s no plans to include these in the CE release in the future either.
our CE release is completely funded by our cloud subscribers so we have done this in order to have a stronger moat for our official managed hosting which keeps the project alive and sustainable. you can see more on the differences between our cloud and CE here and more on the reasoning behind this in this post.
I hope this helps, thanks!

In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] Requires registration and payment@picturebreeze as an alternative, you can also click on the “Community Edition” section within our plugin which takes you to our self-hosted edition. when self-hosting your own Plausible instance, you don’t need to register for any accounts with us nor pay us any money ever. it is free as in beer and free as in speech too

In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] Requires registration and paymentthanks for the feedback @picturebreeze!
we show this note in bold directly towards the top of our plugin description:
“You need a subscription to Plausible Analytics to track your stats. There’s a free 30-day trial with no credit card required.“
thanks @markussss! there’s a “community edition” link in the lower right of the onboarding screen. that’s the one to use.

In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] How to track custom properties?np! you could try to test it with a second snippet to verify how it works and in case you see double counting going on, then it’s best to deactivate the plugin until we support something like that directly in the plugin.

In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] How to track custom properties?thanks for reaching out Manuel! we don’t have the manual script extension as an option in our plugin at this stage unfortunately so you would need to manually add a new snippet to your site by following the linked guide for now. I have now added this feature request to our feedback board so we can follow the popularity and consider adding the manual script as an option in the plugin in the future. thanks!
Our plugin is completely optional. It makes it more convenient and simpler to integrate Plausible into your site but you can use whatever other method you prefer as well.
our plugin version 2.0.7 or 2.0.8 should work all fine without needing the API token even if you’re on CE v2.1.0-rc.0. here’s how it works:
- in our WordPress plugin settings, you need to click on Self-Hosted tab in the top menu bar
- enter the domain name where you installed your CE instance and click on the save button
that’s it. no API required. our next major plugin release will require an API token even for self hosters
sorry for the trouble @markussss
we don’t have support for the API token for self-hosting in the current latest release of our plugin unfortunately. we hope to introduce that in the next major release (there’s an early beta out there for it on GitHub here)
so if you’re self-hosting and using plugin version 2.0.7 or 2.0.8, then you would need to manually enable the self-hosting part in our plugin settings without using the API token
I hope this helps, thanks!

In reply to: [Plausible Analytics] Proxy is blocked from the API endpoint somehowhi Matt!
sorry for the trouble! does this happen on all your sites or only on some? what’s the difference between the setup on sites where it works and where it doesn’t?
in most cases where proxy cannot be created, it’s due to permissions missing. we have a list of the most common things to look at here: https://plausible.io/wordpress-analytics-plugin#stats-not-being-recorded-after-enabling-the-proxy
and if everything from the list looks fine to you, then please disable and then enable the proxy once again after which you should clear all caches both within your WP dashboard, your host and Cloudflare itself.
could you please check if this list helps you troubleshoot where the issue may be?
