This forces the mobile users to always see the amp version instead of the mobile version. The positive affect of this is that amp version loads faster than the normal version.

Did you regenerate All the images or just the featured images?
Please ensure you regenerate all the images and clear your server and browser cache after regenerating the thumbnails.

Thank you for using our plugin and sorry for the inconvenience. v1.4.0 was a major update.
Regarding your issues, a couple of things:
1) Once you update to v1.4.0, you’ll need to re-configure the plugin, including enabling AMP on Home Page, see this screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f91oxaql5gk3vvv/Enable%20Home%20Page%20on%20v1.4.png?dl=0

2) A side note regarding your local setup. It’s best if you setup virtual hosts (custom local domain) instead of using localhost. Will save you from a lot of trouble. Here’s a link to an article on Adding a virtual host in MAMP for Mac

1) This is strange, we couldn’t reproduce this on our end. We’ve tested with custom post type, here’s a reference URL:
https://help.ampwp.io/articles/configuring-amp-wp-options/amp/2) Again this is already implemented and working. You can inspect the URL mentioned above it has the canonical meta tag.
You can try to clear your cache and see if that helps. Also, please de-activate and then re-activate the plugin in order to update the permalinks, that might resolve any permalink issues (Please read this thread here: Important Note: 404 Errors after Updating URL format)
