In reply to: [DCO Comment Attachment] Please add mp4 supportYes, it’s checked. Like I said, other formats will embed, such as a movie or animation in GIF or MOV format, or a link to a video on YouTube, but an mp4 will just display as a link. I played around with it and could not figure out how to get it to display like other formats.

In reply to: [DCO Comment Attachment] Please add mp4 supportI’m sorry, Denis. I missed your reply.
What I mean by support is that I’d like to see an mp4 embedded as a preview in the comment, like a movie in GIF format or a link to YouTube. When I try to add an mp4 it will upload to the database correctly but within the comment it just shows a link.

David,
Thanks so much for your response.
“when you say you changed it in the settings, you mean you set the From address in WP Mail SMTP to the old domain, correct?“
Yes. I changed the domain of my site but had not yet set up a new email account with the new domain. So, while other things were getting changed to the new domain, I didn’t want the SMTP service to be changed quite yet.
“You’ll also want to check your SMTP host and username to make sure they are correct. If they were updated to the new domain, you’ll need to switch them back to the old domain.“
WP SMTP had the correct settings (server, port, username, password) for the mailbox that I wanted to handle the mail for my site. The issue is that it kept automatically updating the *domain* of the email to the new domain that I had not yet asked it to send from (because the email was not yet ready to be used).
While I was having trouble fixing this my whole site went wonky, to the point I couldn’t log into the WP admin panel and I had to restore a previous copy. Once I did, I deleted WP SMTP, quickly pushed the new email through already, and then reinstalled WP SMTP using the new domain in the settings and it worked.
I think your suggestions were correct in that a setting somewhere was forcing, at least WP SMTP, to override my settings. I could not find this setting but that’s the best explanation.
Either way, I fixed it by getting the email domain to match the site’s domain.
Thanks, again!

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Embedding WordPress in a frame causing issues with linksThanks for your reply. I just took it out of the frame. Not what I wanted but at least it works.
Another update: I figured out how to add HTML5 Video Player links to the now by-default “blocks” of WordPress. You have to select “classic”. However, when WordPress is updated it appears that this is where the corruption may be taking place. Something about blocks does not play well with your plugin.
I noticed something I hadn’t before.
If I open the corrupted post. All the writing is missing and the video player no longer shows, instead it’s just a frame from the video.
What I didn’t notice is if I hover over a spot it will show the option to play the video in picture-in-picture mode. Then the video is opened in a small window in the lower right corner and I can play it.
When it’s in picture-in-picture mode there are three buttons on the player: back to tab, pause, and mute. I can resize the video by dragging the cursor. When I click back to tab, the video will continue to play in the main window, however the controls disappear.
Hope this helps.

Any update? Like I said, I’d really like to keep using your plugin but if it doesn’t work with the latest version of WordPress then I may have to ditch it.
I would also try changing my theme but Twenty Sixteen remains the one with the features and customization that works really well for my blog.
It’s in the entry above: Twenty Sixteen
I have other plugins but I have not installed any new ones. I have not any issues with any of them.
The reason why I think it’s your plugin is because after the WordPress upgrade the only posts that became corrupted were the ones in which your plugin was used.
If you just updated your plugin and ran the test then maybe that’s why it’s working now.
After I delete the files do I just reinstall and it will automatically see that I have e-list settings and subscribers?

In reply to: [Page Builder Gutenberg Blocks – Kioken Blocks] Deleting title? So even though the template asks if you want to add a banner, it won’t get rid of the text OVER the banner?
That’s a strange oversight. It also makes the template useless for me. I don’t want my custom banner to have the word BLOG awkwardly over it.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.
