In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Maybe for small sitesYeah, absolutely not, and I’ll be the first to admit it. Relevanssi Light is designed for sites that big, and offers a major performance improvement over the default WP search.

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Some Search Result are Not ShowingI suppose your theme is dictating that the knowledge base search will not include anything but the knowledge base entries.
You can override it with this snippet:
add_filter( 'relevanssi_modify_wp_query', function( $query ) {
$query->set( 'post_types', 'any' );
return $query;
} );This will allow all post types, which leaves it up to Relevanssi indexing settings. You can also replace
anywith a list of comma-separated post type names if you want to specify the post types here.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Some Search Result are Not ShowingI suspect your theme is restricting the post types allowed in the search results. It’s not obvious, but the
ht-kb-search=1query parameter may cause this. Check your theme settings to see if there’s a way to allow other post types in the search results.Can you find “resource” posts in the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search)?

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] A Search Form Question:Your search form looks fine, so there’s something else on your site that’s breaking the default behaviour. Your
I see there’s a JS error on your site, related to Recaptcha. Fixing that would be a good start. I’d also try disabling the “Don’t copy” right-click blocker to see if that is messing up with this.
This is not related to Relevanssi in any way, that much I can tell, as Relevanssi has nothing to do with this part of the search. This is related to your theme. I tried installing Neve on my test site, and the default Search block works perfectly fine on my test site, so it’s something in the way your site is set up.
The column never changes. It doesn’t show whether Relevanssi indexes the post type or not. That you can see from the checkbox. The column shows how the post type has been set up. This is important to know, because if you want to index post types that have been excluded from the search, it requires some extra steps.
So no code is required, simply uncheck the checkbox and reindex.
If you still see pages in the search results, that tells you your front end search is not Relevanssi.

In reply to: [Relevanssi Live Ajax Search] Plugin directory warning messageAh, thanks for the heads-up. Yes, the plugin is still actively maintained, it’s just pretty much complete and doesn’t need constant fixing.
I’ve updated the “Tested up to” value to 6.9, as I do work on Relevanssi code constantly and at the same time keep an eye on potential problems with this plugin.
In case you ever want to come back to Relevanssi, the problem was caused by security features from the “Highlight terms in posts” feature. If you disable that, the videos should show up just fine.
Relevanssi doesn’t index any post types unless you explicitly select the post type in the Relevanssi indexing settings. If the
wp_global_stylespost type is checked in the list of post types to index, uncheck it and rebuild the index.If the post type is unindexed, you have rebuild the index and the posts still appear in the results, the problem is something else.
If the ACF field contents don’t show up in the custom field data in the debugger, that’s an indexing issue. Check the Relevanssi custom field indexing settings to make sure the field is indexed and check that the field isn’t marked excluded from Relevanssi index from the ACF field settings.
If you see multiple hits in the search logs but none on the front end, that may also suggest your front end is not showing Relevanssi results. If you search for
OurBrand N9042Bin the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search), do you get results?Debugging on your site is a service I can only provide to Relevanssi Premium customers.

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Some search results are not appearingYou have “Partial words if no match for whole words” setting selected. Since you have matches for “sound”, it doesn’t do any partial matching. That’s a stupid setting, don’t use it 😉 You want the “Partial words” setting.

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Search term not highlighted in ResultsThe Query Loop is likely not using the excerpts Relevanssi generates, and instead using something else. If you change other excerpt settings, like the excerpt length, does that have any effect on your excerpts?

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Database errorWell, the error message says twice it’s a database error, and doesn’t really say anything about it being a Relevanssi error except that it’s triggered from a Relevanssi query, so based on that that’s all I can say.
But as I said, I don’t know anything about debugging MySQL server error states, so a forum dedicated for that is guaranteed to be more helpful here.

In reply to: [Relevanssi - A Better Search] Database errorUnfortunately, I know very little of the technical side of databases. I don’t know what else could cause this except a lack of space on the
/tmp/partition. If that cannot be the problem, I would recommend asking about this on a forum focused on MySQL server stuff, as this doesn’t sound like a Relevanssi problem – this very much looks like a database server problem.Is Relevanssi currently disabled on your site? None of the debugging works, and I see search results, that may or may not be from Relevanssi.
Is theÂ
[hkb_ajax_search] from your theme or is it another plugin? Sounds like it might not be compatible with Relevanssi. However, that’s hard to tell when clearly Relevanssi is not working as expected.Again, do you have a complete index? For words where you get results from the Relevanssi admin search, do you get the same results from the front end search? You’re asking for things to debug, and I do my best to give you something – so please answer these questions. These are important questions, and I can’t get any further without answers.
