It’s a shame really. I was so happy to move away from the Duplicator plugin as this one was so much easier to use and I ran into no problems in any migration I ever attempted with it. My security protocols just will not allow me to download and install an externally hosted plugin, which is require now for both the free and paid versions of this plugin. Until they are rolled back into the WP hosted plugin I am abandoning this. Please reconsider the completely unreasonable situation you have put many of us into for this. If the paid version included the import and was hosted on WP I’d be inclined to consider going in that direction. As is, you’re dead to me.
Cory,
I am still having no luck unlike @bothhands. I’ve tried to do some additional testing. We’re behind a firewall for the most part so I can do what I can to provide as much information as possible.
In my testing, I’ve tried numerous browsers, including (gasp) MS Edge, refreshed pages as BothHands did and still constantly get the “Select a bulk action” message.
For the most recent test, I installed v1.3.0 of the plugin and it worked fine. When I updated to 1.3.2, the error started that I am experiencing, and the 1.3.3 did not correct it no matter what I tried. In this new video, you can see how 1.3.0 worked and the update to 1.3.2 failed.
One thing I noticed was how different the popup messages looked. I am not sure how much the coding changed from 1.3.0 to 1.3.2, but seems like is was potentially significant.
In trying to do a refresh like BothHands reported success with, should I be trying to select the packages, select a bulk action, then refresh? Not sure of the order to succeed where he did.
We’ve run into multiple problems with the plugin in the past and even bought the Pro version once to try and resolve issues we later determined we the IIS environment we are in. Nothing will convince me that is not the culprit here as your plugin is bulletproof in Linux/Apache. It is one of the first plugins I install on any new build and that won’t change.
Thanks again.

Cory, I’ve been using the plugin for quite some time and this is a new development since the recent update. It is working OK in the local install and I would bet any install using Apache as the server. I am convinced it is connected to the IIS backend because of my testing.
In this linked video, the first dashboard is one on the IIS environment. You can see the different ways I tried to delete packages.
The second dashboard with a single package is on a WAMP install using Apache and as you can see it works just fine from there. No chance you have an IIS environment to test this I imagine.
Thanks again for the excellent support.

Thanks for the suggestion Cory. I plugged it into one of my test sites in the IIS environment and still getting the prompt “Please select an action from the “Bulk Actions” drop down menu!”
For me this is not really a serious issue more than it is I like to keep the number of old packages to 2 or 3. But if this is not functional in subsequent releases it could become a storage issue.
If I can provide any additional information on our environment for this, please let me know.

Was Duplicator working at some point but started failing recently (upgrade to WP 3.9 or 3.9.1)? Just checking as mine exhibits the same thing but only since an update in WP at my end.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] FTP to Box account issues …I have a ticket open at Box so we’ll see if they can find anything in the log. I’ll report once I hear anything from them.
Thanks for the help so far.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] FTP to Box account issues …Thanks David. Never used pastebin before but just created an account and dumped the log there. Try this URL:
Let me know if that helps or if there is anything else you need.
FYI, tested it with a plain FTP process to a webhost I have and the archives all came through just fine. So it seems a Box issue for sure.

I would not even know what to look for if I could get at the PHP logs.
If you do not have an IIS system for testing at your end this will likely go unresolved for the time being. I’ll check back when new versions of WP or Duplicator are released to see if there are any changes that correct this.

Likely my last post on this for now. I have been able to get Duplicator to run on IIS running PHP 5.3.24 but not on IIS running 5.5.3. Only thing that indicates anything is amiss is the gear icon appears to “churn” rather than spin cleanly in the 5.5.3 space. Made a brief video of it if you are interested:
Thanks again for a great tool. Hope a future version can address this for the installs I am running on the 5.5.3 server.

On a whim, tested Duplicator on WP 3.9 on a MAMP machine running PHP 5.5.3 and it worked fine (Apache). Leaning more towards a possible IIS glitch. I really wish I had an Apache box in production but IIS is the flavor of choice at my univ. Have had other hurdles running on IIS so not surprising.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the production environment is still not working on WP 3.9 even with the 0.5.3 of Duplicator. This was the resulting log:
VERSION: 0.5.3
WORDPRESS: 3.9
PHP INFO: 5.5.3 | SAPI: cgi-fcgi
SERVER: Microsoft-IIS/7.5
PHP TIME LIMIT: (0) no time limit imposed
PHP MAX MEMORY: 5000M (128M default)*********
DATABASE:

BUILD MODE: PHP
MYSQLDUMP: Not Supported
MYSQLTIMEOUT: 5000
TABLES: total:19 | filtered:0 | create:19If there is anything else I can do to help solve this, let me know. I have all diagnostics I can submit if you think creating a ticket is in order.

Sorry for the duplicate but wanted to share some additional information. I was able to run Duplicator in WP 3.9 on IIS successfully in a stage environment. Although it says not to post this, here is basic header information from a backup that worked on IIS on 3.9 from the log:
VERSION: 0.5.2
WORDPRESS: 3.9
PHP INFO: 5.3.24 | SAPI: cgi-fcgi
SERVER: Microsoft-IIS/7.5
PHP TIME LIMIT: (0) no time limit imposed
PHP MAX MEMORY: 5000M (256M default)In this environment, the package creation failed on 3.9:
VERSION: 0.5.2
WORDPRESS: 3.9
PHP INFO: 5.5.3 | SAPI: cgi-fcgi
SERVER: Microsoft-IIS/7.5
PHP TIME LIMIT: (0) no time limit imposed
PHP MAX MEMORY: 5000M (128M default)Hope it helps.

I am running into the same problem and the issue could be related to the server. On any and all Apache servers I have tested it works fine on 3.9.
However, in an IIS environment at work where I have 4 installs running, none can generate an installer or package from IIS.
Not sure if you have access to a server to test this and that we can find a solution quickly.
Thanks again for a fantastic product.

In reply to: [Stream] suggestion – ability to copy stream or export itI’ll add a +1 on this as well. I have some faculty members looking for a way to track the activity of their students in a blogging assignment and this would have been perfect. Academics always need to be able to collect and analyze data like this, as I am sure business and others would want the ability to do as well.
Great tool and will be useful for me for a project I am working on even without this capability.
