In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly? But the QR code image (250×250) is still larger than the YouTube thumbnail (320×180). Both are small, but the QR code is larger. Maybe that’s the criterion—I’m not sure.
You would need to contact Jetpack support, because Jetpack decides which image to use. All FIFU does is save the remote featured image URL in the database record.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly?I was able to reproduce the issue (the featured image wasn’t displayed, and an image from the post body was shown instead) when using your smaller image:
But after changing the featured image to the higher-resolution version below, it displayed correctly in the Related Posts section:
So, in my opinion, Jetpack is refusing the smaller image due to its dimensions. In their documentation, they say the analysis of what appears in the Related Posts section is done in the cloud, but they don’t specify the criteria—so we can only assume the image was rejected because it’s too small.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly?Sorry for the late reply. It wasn’t easy to get Jetpack to recognize posts as related and display the section. But in the end, I managed to do it and created a few video posts using YouTube image URLs as remote featured images. Jetpack was able to display the images correctly. So unfortunately, I couldn’t reproduce the issue.
If possible, please send me a link to a post where the problem is occurring, and I’ll inspect it.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Thumbnail grom YT directly?Hello,
I’m not sure I fully understand the question, as I’m not completely familiar with the related posts section you’re referring to, or how you’re using Jetpack with videos.
Anyway, FIFU was designed to work with remote images, so you can use the YouTube thumbnail URL in FIFU’s featured image field without needing to save it to the media library.
And yes, the export plugins should be able to export the image URLs, since they read them directly from the database. So FIFU doesn’t need to do anything to make this possible.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] Pro QuestionHi @sonnycool,
FIFU’s role is to handle featured images from a URL. For other images—e.g., those placed inside the post content—WordPress natively supports inserting images by URL, so no additional action from FIFU is required.
Hi @toucandesign,
As you know, FIFU was designed to work with remote images, so by default, it doesn’t save them to the media library—unless you enable the Save in the Media Library option, which is not the case here. So another plugin is doing it (probably MPT), and I can help you with that, since it claims to have an integration with FIFU.
We just can’t continue this conversation on the WordPress.org forum, because the forum guidelines don’t allow us to discuss commercial products here, including FIFU Premium. So please go to the FIFU website and use the support email to continue this conversation.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] W3 and Facebook Invalid ImageHi dubh,
Sorry for the late reply. There was a problem with the support account, just solved now.The issue is that this image URL is being considered invalid:
Because of this character: — (between soiree and Trunk)
So this isn’t a problem with the plugin, but with the URL itself.
Even though the image is accessible and probably displayed correctly on your site, third-party services may reject it due to that single character.
The solution would be to either save the image in the media library or replace it with another one.

In reply to: [Featured Image from URL (FIFU)] disabling product snippet structured dataSorry for the late reply. There was an issue with the other support account. It was suddenly blocked from posting here because it was using business elements, while the profile is expected to be more personal. So, following the rules, this one is being used for support now.
The error message was fixed in version 5.2.7, and no other users have reported issues with the structured data.
Please let me know if it solved the issue for you as well.
