I realized that the posts that I were still seeing their full contents were because I had added separate excerpts to the posting in the “Add an excerpt….” section of the post (under “edit” function). I deleted them and they are all now in their original states.
Thanks for the help! My problem is finally resolved! The plugin “Royal Elementor Addons” Version: 1.7.1037 update is really the cause of it.

Thanks for your guidance. I followed your advice and found the cause of the issue…the Royal Elementor Addons Version: 1.7.1037 seem to have an issue. When I deactivated it, the excerpt view was reinstated although not perfect (i.e. some postings still showing the full contents). When I reactivated the Royal EA plugin, the problem came back.
Thanks for your help. For those postings that can’t revert to excerpt view, I’ll probably delete them.

All my postings on the above blog page show the full contents. Previously, they were all short scripts until now. I am unable to find the “excerpt” checkbox under the “screen options” pulldown list at the top right-hand corner of my WP dashboard. I am using Astra theme with the latest WordPress 6.8.3 as well.
I found my answer…it’s using the Elementor edit page, and click on the modal box to change to content title.
