Basically if you use any kind of pretty permalinks
AND have a static front page configured,
the home page results in an infinite redirect loop. This appears to be caused by mixed case domain names in your settings.
Solution: Go to Settings > General
and make sure your siteurl and home url are all lowercase.I was having this issue with a client’s site and this information solved the issue immediately! Thank you for sharing. I do not have any maintenance mode plug installed, and literally disabled ALL plugins prior to finding this fix without any changes. All I had to do was change 2 letters from uppercase to lower and BAM instantly 100% again.
Thank you for the reply csonnek! Unfortunately, it is going on about a month and this issue was not addressed in the recent Jetpack update, in which it should have. Due to this, I am going to have to drop the Facebook like box and/or the whole Jetpack plugin altogether.
I guarantee I am not the only one with this problem. While it may seem like a minor option, it was working in previous versions, then taking it out in a later version, while “there are additional options available: Width (min 180, max 500)” in the developer options, it seems to be a step backwards. I am now forced to find an alternative solution.
I am having the same exact problem as sleeplessinDC. I just updated Jetpack and noticed the width has shrunk and that is a problem for my website. The ‘Facebook Like Box (Jetpack)’ needs to have a ‘Width’ option that we can manually adjust ourselves and/or the option to become responsive to wherever the widget is placed. So if the sidebar is 200px it will auto adjust the width to that size. However, I would rather have the Width option (or both) I can set myself, just as the Height option is implemented.

In reply to: [zeePersonal] Not working with WordPress 4.0.1 updateIs there anyone that is able to at least point me in the right direction? How can I figure out where the WordPress tries to load the theme but errors out so it never loads properly? I need something to work with. Meanwhile I been searching for similar themes that would work for me and so far nothing has come up yet. The theme would work perfectly. Anyway, please help or send me in the right direction.

In reply to: Ookla Speedtest.net mini – installation issueI fixed my issue by altering the code inside the provided php webpage. The reason why I did not do this before is that it was marked as do not alter. However, I had no other option that I could find, and when I was able to specify where exactly the files were located, everything works fine. The only problem now is that there is a huge space above and under the actual speedtest app itself. I played around with the margins in the theme’s css, but it did not make much of a difference, so now I am stuck on that.

In reply to: Ookla Speedtest.net mini – installation issueI have since tried installing a few different plugins that allow php to be run on a page or anywhere on the site. I did this thinking that the code from the php file is not being translated properly when using the create a page option, or when loading a file directly using a web url. The results were still the same. On other CMS’s, I was able to create a blank page, post the code in, publish and everything showed up as expected. This is not happening with WordPress. I highly prefer to stay with WP and would like to get this issue solved asap.

In reply to: Adding Ookla Speed test miniI would like to add the speedtest.net mini to my website as well. I can get it so it looks and words good in the preview, but when I publish the page and navigate to it from the site, it never works. I get a black screen with ‘update your client’ on the screen.
Another issue I am having is my webpage and slug is set to Speedtest, but that is also the name of the folder containing the speedtest, so when people click on it, it shows them the directory on my webserver instead of loading the page. So then I made index.html from the php file included with the speedtest and put it in the speedtest folder. From there I get the same result as before, blank screen with the words ‘update your client’.
I searched heavily on google and wordpress forums with no luck. This is the only post that keeps coming up that is relevant. Hopefully we can get some feedback to get us up and running.
