With the lone exception of this original post, every time I’ve made a negative statement toward Automatic or wordpress inside of a comment it gets caught as spam, funny how that happens.
And if Anders made this then I won’t like the other stuff he did either, because it is clear that when they make something that has a glaring flaw they go “Ah, we’ll just make it a free theme, or a freemium theme and charge for the fix.”
I understand it takes time, as I myself have made themes, and people need to be paid, but to alway have a free theme that is either incomplete, or glaring flaws, is just not a great showing.
I have bought many themes, paid many hundreds for some good ones, but only from people who make decent free themes or preview themes that show they finished them also.
It’s just frustrating that since around 2014, as wordpress gets more “user friendly” it gets more and more time consuming, and it keeps feeling like things are being released half finished.
I used to love wordpress too….I was a cheerleader for almost a decade. It just is getting so time consuming, again, it used to consume time to add things, now it is consuming to undo what is being done.
And with other cms getting better, for the amount of time it takes now days, it’s getting hard to justify.I want to love wordpress again, I really do.
And thanks for the reply, not your fault my man.
You’re doing fine, I just only dedicate 15 minutes a day to this project, so time is short.Don’t worry about it, I found an old theme that looks similar and I can just customize it to fix the incompatibilities with the core updates.
My other reply got held because I had a negative comment, so I’m just moving on….I don’t have time to waste.
Thanks for trying. No @james Huff, that has nothing to do with what I am talking about.
I’m referring to the actual wrapper around everything below the nav and menu. And @raQai, it doesn’t matter which template, all of them have the wrapper set to always leave a gap, I’m including two more screen grabs, and a link to the site.
This is not the placement of the content, or the width of the content, this is about getting everything below the header and nav to go from side to side in the browser instead of leaving ugly gaps, which for some reason every “twenty” theme always does.
Please take a look at the screen grabs

it’d be nice if Automattic could release a theme that is both functional and looks decent, but for whatever reason it’s always one or the other….I know the thought process is “Well if you want better then pay” but seeing themes with glaring issues doesn’t exactly make me want to pay the person who made it for what they claim is better.
With each update I find myself moving further and further away from WordPress. Six years ago every site I made or managed was on wordpress, now it’s less than a third.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [onetone] Theme is not showing changesThanks for the reply BigTom, all the plugins are off except jetpack, and I just disabled jetpack and it still has issues, I realized the issue is the theme doesn’t like the server environment……not much one can do I guess.
Thanks for the reply.
