In reply to: Disable “Welcome to the block editor”“Say hello to “Arturo” and WordPress 6.0…With nearly 1,000 enhancements and bug fixes, the second major release of 2022 is here.”
Still no solution provided to have permanency with removing these annoying little critter. It still chokes because I don’t need my website to contact s.w\.org every time I login.

In reply to: s.w.org is always notified when I login & edit/create posts? Why are core assets of wp-admin/wp-includes have to be stored in s.w.org?
It defeats the purpose of “self hosted”. The editor looks horrible because I block s.w.org at the proxy level.
How many more dependencies will be added in the future that gets pulled from this domain? Paves an easy way for server-side analytics and more data collection.
Most users are unaware because they’re likely enamored with the “enhancement” plugins/features alongside preaching diversity & inclusion programs with Josepha and co.
If it is “self hosted”, let me host the platform without these externalities.

In reply to: errors with /wp-includes/class-requests after 5.4 upgradeLooks like a non-existent theme (twentysixteen) caused the problem. Resolved by logging in > Appearance and selecting a different theme.

In reply to: Media Library permission checksThere is no error when deleting items in Media Library. The deletion goes through as expected. But when I check the filesystem, the items still exists. Afaik, there are no filesystem permission checks for deletions.

In reply to: 5.3-RC2 PHP NoticeI believe the error is no longer there. It was a result of enabling error logging in wp-config.php
Thank you.

I don’t use any plugins. The themes I have come with the code base are unmodified. Let me check the Apache error logs once more.
