This is hosted on a self managed VPS.
All other options work with SMTP, I am able to link it up with a bunch of other services. Just not using Google’s SMTP relay feature: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2956491?hl=en

Yes, I have SSL/TLS enabled. SMTP authentication disabled.
Enabled debug and tried sending a test email. The page loaded for a solid 5 minutes before giving this error message:
SMTP ERROR: Failed to connect to server: (0)SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting
