Well, it wasn’t my fault but of WordPress. It somehow managed to change the simple quotes in the shortcodes to the rounded ones!

Then I edited the paragraphs as raw HTML, saved the page, and voilá, Zotpress in-text references on the test page started to work.

Well, I had some work with debugging a Zotpress JS script (zotpress.shortcode.intext.min.js) but it brought the desired fruit. 😉
