In reply to: [Uber Login Logo] Major Security Risk due to abandoned pluginMy posts have all been directed into the “support” area for this plugin.
If this is not Jan’s plugin. Then how is he qualified to say that the code is still fine. He shouldn’t reply. Is the author able to comment?

In reply to: [Uber Login Logo] Major Security Risk due to abandoned pluginIts nothing to do with old code. No one mentioned that – only you.
Its just to show that someone is looking after the plugin still, that’s all.
In your case – its clear that the plugin is still good, and you are still keeping an eye on it.
*Drinks Tea*
However, in many cases. Some plugins are abandoned and are not being looked after any more.
Why would you want to put yourself in the same group as those guys?
*Eats a biscuit*
To differentiate your good plugin, from the many bad un-maintained plugins. This is the only data that WordPress has to use.
*Pops to the loo*
Its no big deal. You do what you like. I was just on here giving you a heads up. And trying to offer some friendly advice. That’s all.
Because I like your plugin…Hi Paul.
I can send you the latest 100 lines from my access log files easily enough. I would really appreciate if you could cast your expert eye over them.

How is best to send them to you? I don’t want to post them on the forum. Can I email them to you?
Thanks so much.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Uber Login Logo] Major Security Risk due to abandoned pluginHi Jan.
Thanks for your reply. Yes I agree with you but this is how it is unfortunately.
—————————–
The plugin is Wordfence and I have started getting multiple emails from them warning me of using your plugin (and other plugins too I may add)
————————–
Please note that WordPress.org also has the following warning:
“This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”———————–
May I ask why you can’t run an update, even if it is only for minor admin things. It would be the easiest way to avoid these issues. It would give people more confidence to use it, if it was updated recently.Thanks.
Hi Paul.
The plugin causing the issue is WP-client. Its not very good to be honest but I am trying to get it working.
Other than the problem I have with the OTP’s with your plugin, I am not experiencing any other issues.
Is there any basic tests I can carry out to try and identify the root cause of the problem?
Thanks so much for your help.Hi Paul.
As you suggested, I have isolated this problem to another plugin which is not yours.
This must be causing the problem with the cookies not clearing.
I intend to email the plugin developer about this.
——————
Please can you put into simple words what am I asking them to fix?
Because in terms of cookies, I don’t understand what their plugin should or shouldn’t be doing. Thanks once again. Great support.
Hi Paul.
Yes sorry that was a silly question.
———————–
Yes it appears you are correct that clearing the cookies fixes it.
I just cleared my cookies and it gave me a new password. I then logged in and out twice more and it gave me the same password.
I then cleared the cookies once more – and it gave me the new password.
———————-
I have tested this on Chrome and Firefox and both had the same problem.
———————-
Is this possible for you to fix?Whats the easiest way to do that? 🙂
No I didn’t.
Wordfence scan says no issues and I cannot see any reason why anything is compromised so I haven’t ran the repair.
Hi Paul.
I don’t think it did….
I received the below yesterday….
———————————————–Hi !
Shield has detected files on your site with potential problems.
This is part of the Hack Protection feature for the WordPress Core File Scanner. [More Info]

The MD5 Checksum Hashes for following core files do not match the official WordPress.org Checksum Hashes:

By the way….
I do love the plugin.
If I could gain more confidence with it. I would use it over WordFence because I like the simple 2FA feature.
However, I have used WordFence for a while and am used to the results and its capabilities….Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Plugins not updatingHi Mathew.
Thank you for your reply.
– Yes, I have selected to automatically update plugins. However, its doesn’t work. I have a plugin that has been asking for an update now for a few days.
– As requested, please see settings in image here:
http://www.daisybankdesign.co.uk/settingsimage.jpg
– I am using Easy Updates Manager Version 6.2.11
– I have the same setup on several of my clients websites. It doesn’t seem to work on any of them. Is there any settings/functions that I need to check with my hosting company?
– You can see my other plugins installed on the screen image for the update settings. However, it doesn’t work on another website I have where I use fewer plugins as follows:
