Matt,
I’m having the same problem. API is good, the place is popping in Google Places with a Place ID.
But the lookup in the widget is not working…
Signed up for the beta too, if you think that would be helpful.

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Any way to boost priority? Thanks for the reply, Diana.
And no, certainly not too technical. I fully understand your reluctance to get into a position where the plugin is breaking anything else…
I think at the end of the day, I’m just asking for an option that would let me decide, or give me the tools, to make the decision myself.
In my particular case, I don’t use Suffusion’s menu options at all — I opt for a plugin that doesn’t seem to by in conflict with yours. So it’s a moot point; I don’t mind losing the theme functionality because I already don’t use it.
Fully understand if it’s an area into which you don’t want to go, too.
Cheers,

In reply to: [Category Posts in Custom Menu] Any way to boost priority?A P.S. on this — the problem turned out to be my theme, Suffusion…
It may be useful to be able to increase the hook priority, but toggling the theme on an off may be less of a problem than a herd of plugins.
Cheers,
ArtWell, yes, that’s what I suspected too.
Any thoughts on identifying it other than the disable everything and activate incrementally?

In reply to: W.P 3.5 Media not workingGreat! Glad it worked on someone else’s system too.
I’m making a WAG that the problem is in the database because
- The minor change is forcing a new commit to the database.
- And that would tie in with LuxXul’s suggestion to roll back the database to a previous rev…

In reply to: W.P 3.5 Media not workingWhat worked for me….
I tried the solution suggested in a related thread, adding “define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false );” to the wp-cconfig.php script, and that didn’t seem to do anything.
WHAT DID WORK: I went into the Media editor and made a minor change to the graphic file (I’m not having any trouble uploading, just inserting into posts) and saved (clicked UPDATE).
Then I tried inserting again. The new interface took its time, compared to the previous release, but IT DID WORK after 30-45-60 seconds.
This has worked three times, so I’m passing it along and hope it helps someone.
Cheers,

In reply to: Menu links not working — how to debug?Interestingly enough, that one plugin fixed things on Firefox, but they’re still inoperative on IE and Chrome.

In reply to: Menu links not working — how to debug? Thanks, Andrew — your suggestion ended up helping me isolate what had been a benign plugin for months, now turned evil.

In reply to: [Media Credit] Latest WP updates or caption handling break Media CreditIf you want anyone to beta test a fix or two, I’m willing.
What I’m requesting is a “start” counter or logic that can identify the highest number image in the gallery and begin with that image.
My reason for asking for this is to create a Photo Of The Day album. Users would add images themselves. But I’d like the display to always begin with the most current image, the one that has most recently been uploaded — FIFO logic.
And yes, as you point out, you can set those options manually. However, if images are added, then the “starting image” number is always changing.
- If today, my start image is 99…
- An image is are added by a user with non-administrative permissions.
- That image, say numbers 100, 101, and 102; could not become the start image — the Image Of The Day.
Which is wny I’m requesting an enhancement.
Cheers,
ArtThank you, Redcocker san.
I eagerly await the future release.
I am available for beta testing, should you wish a field test.Cheers,
ArtI’m in the exact same position:
* Initial install a few days ago; took the Dropbox info ok.
* All backups failed. I did get a MySQL dump on the server, which I’m assuming is OK, but which I haven’t verified.
* No files or directories are backed up anywhere
* Nothing is echoed to Dropbox.Did the upgrade to the 9.2 this morning and ran a manual backup with the same results (although I did notice more and better log messages, it still isn’t working.

ArtForum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Installing WordPress locally on Windows 7 64 bit?Awesome post, 2ninerniner2!
One question though: this install is on an internal protected network, so I turned Windows firewall off to make the site visible.
Viewing from localhost, everything works correctly. From other machines, however, formatted text is popping up without the theme framework or graphics. I’m guessing it’s a permissions issue, but I’m not sure where to begin troubleshooting because I haven’t used this setup before.
Any thoughts on likely suspects>
Thanks!

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Title metatagYa’ll are channeling my thoughts too.
I was just logging on to file a Bug / Feature Request that if an image file is added to a gallery and it already has meta information for Title that the image file’s Title string should be picked up and used as the Title Text associated with the file in NextGen.
Same thing with tags – if an image is already tagged, those tags should show up in the Tags field.
Cheers,
Art
