It’s correct for subsites as patches (main.com/site1 main.com/site2) but not for different domains – at minimum cookies not are cross-domain supported by browser.
Main site users 2autj works, but users what have access only to subsite with another domain will redirect in infinite loop to main site.
Can we contact by email or slack, I can provide demo environment with this problem. I see that another users have some troubles

Wp default feature, they NEED reauthenticate. Need to take attention, that some users can have access to some subsites, but not have access to main site
