I’ve set up a form https://finaltouchvisuals.com/bookings/ using WPZOOM forms lite.

It doesn’t appear to be passing off the submission to my website’s email inbox.

The form appears to “successfully submit”. I can go to “submissions” in the plugin and see a very sparse ‘summary’ – Name , Email, Unamed Input. (Like, where’s the rest of all the information I recruited in the form?)

    1. Ive ensured the Form Method includes email delivery (Save to Database & Email).
    2. I’ve verified my WordPress Email Functionality by using WP Test Email
    3. My host, Godaddy, have SMTP turned off by default. They use Microsoft 365 for email. I tuned on SMTP. This is what the little tooltip says: “SMTP Authentication is used to send email from clients such as reporting servers and multifunction devices (printers, scanners) that generate email messages. SMTP Authentication doesn’t support modern authentication, so all you need to send an email is a username and password. This makes SMTP Authentication less secure. We recommend you disable SMTP Authentication, and enable it only for the mailboxes that still require it.” I turned it on anyway.
    4. I installed “WP Mail Logging” plugin. It gave me this error message “Could not instantiate mail function. This email failed to send. Install WP Mail SMTP to solve your deliverability issues.”
    5. Note that by default, my host uses Microsoft 365, and has SMTP turned off via go daddy’s dashboard, but it’s a toggle that you can turn on. I have it turned on.
    6. I installed WP Mail SMTP plugin and run the setup wizard. If I have SMTP switched on via Godaddy’s dashboard, I don’t understand why I need this plugin, but I’ll go ahead anyway. I hit a roadblock “We’re sorry, the 365 / Outlook mailer is not available on your plan. Please upgrade to the PRO plan to unlock all these awesome features.” and “Microsoft is retiring support for Basic SMTP authentication. This means your emails will stop sending if you use Outlook or Hotmail SMTP with the Other SMTP mailer. We recommend switching to our dedicated Outlook mailer to ensure your emails are delivered.” I choose “Other SMTP” and enter the details manually
    7. “Checking Mailer Configuration – We’re running some tests in the background to make sure everything is set up properly.”
    8. “SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Failed to connect to serverSMTP server error: Failed to connect to server SMTP code: 110 Additional SMTP info: Connection timed out”
    9. Connection failed. Error #2: stream_socket_client(): Unable to connect to smtp.office365.com:587 (Connection timed out) [/dom513330/wp-includes/PHPMailer/SMTP.php line 412]
    10. PHPMailer was able to connect to SMTP server but failed while trying to send an email. Source WPZOOM Forms /dom513330/wp-content/plugins/wpzoom-forms/wpzoom-forms.php (line: 2572)”

At which point I bow to your expertise because I don’t have any knowledge on how to fix it.

    1. Does upgrading to WP Mail SMTP pro fix it?
    2. Does Upgrading to WPZOOM Forms Pro fix it?
    3. Do I need to contact my host and see if the issue is on their end?

I just want my form to work natively using the tools at hand, Maybe I have to source an outside form, if so , any recommendations?

Thanks for attending my TED Talk.
