So the problem is the correct template not showing up? Did you change the default recipe template on the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Recipe Template page?
We have plenty of people using WPRM in combination with Elementor. Should work fine!
Yes, of course I changed it. It is called NetaCompact.
And the edited template (NetaCompact) is shown *correctly* in Elementor, when I use the WPRM element to add the recipe. Beautiful.
In the web page it shows the shortcode only. No recipe at all.
So the WPRM Element does not work.

I tried something else (I have been spending a lot of time on trying to fix this):
To try and figure out what is going on, I also tried to use the shortcode element with the shortcode [“wprm-recipe id=”335].
In this case the template Compact (instead of NetaCompact) is shown in Elementor and also in the page.
So this is not a good solution.
———————
I am desperate. Please see if you can help me.
Thank you in advance,
Neta

Well I can confirm the Elementor “WPRM Recipe” widget works perfectly fine for me in Elementor 2.8.5 and WP Recipe Maker 5.9.0. Both in the Preview and on the front-end.
So it could be some kind of compatibility problem.
Try disabling all other plugins for a second and see if it works then.
If not, try switching to a default theme (like Twenty Seventeen) and check again.
An easy way to do these tests without interrupting your visitors is using the “Troubleshoot Mode” in the Health Check plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
Can you send me a screenshot of the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Recipe Templates page as well? You can email to [email protected] if that’s easier.
I just emailed you with all the data and screenshots. Thank you very much for your help.
For future readers of this:
You need to enable the setting to set a different template per recipe type.
Thank you so much!

Happy to hear we got this sorted!
Just to clarify: the plugin can be used for “Food”, “How-To” and “Other” recipes. They can all use different templates which can be managed through the WP Recipe Maker > Settings > Recipe Template page.
Hi Brecht,
I am having the same issue, and have followed all the instructions you provided above but no luck.
To summarize,
I am just getting started with WPRecipeMaker, so I have only 1 recipe, which I can see in the Dashboard/WP RecipeMaker/Manage section.
Using Elementor Pro 5.4.1
I can see the recipe in the WPRM widget, and when I drag and drop, it shows nicely within the section. So all good till here, but the minute I hit ‘update’ in Elementor, the published view only shows the code: [wprm-recipe id=”851″]
What to do? Thanks for your help.
Best wishes

Hi Radhika,
Can you send a link to that recipe to [email protected] so I can take a look?
I’ll add to the list.
Hi, Brecht.
I, too, am just starting out with WPRM. It shows up on my site using WP’s Classic Editor, but it does not show up when I switch over to edit with Elementor. Not even the code. If I have to insert the shortcode somewhere, can you explain where that is?
Here’s the link to the Elementor draft page without the recipe: https://glitterandbonbons.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1132&action=elementor
Is that what you need?
Thank you in advance.

@smcnaughton57 That link is only accessible for logged in editors/admins on your website.
You added it using the Elementor WPRM Recipe block?

@brechtvds I’m facing the same issue that was reported here. A client asked me to merge WPRM and Elementor but I can’t get it to work.
Could you elaborate on what exactly has to be changed in the WPRM template settings to make use of the custom single template for CPT wprm_recipe that I build with Elementor?
I understand that in WPRM I can generally choose different templates for Food Recipe, How-to Instructions and Other Recipe. But in the select fields for those I can only choose WPRM templates (full recipe templates, snippet templates, roundup templates). I’m missing a setting to disable all WPRM templates and instead use the default WP or Elementor template.
My goal is to use one Elementor single template for all recipes in which I just call the WPRM widget to dynamically show the WPRM posts contents.

This is not the same problem so I recommend opening a new ticket.
A recipe is supposed to be part of a regular post or page:
https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/67-creating-a-recipe
The Elementor template would be set for that post/page, not the recipe itself. Only a WPRM template makes sense to use for the recipe.
