WPCode keeps reinstalling itself

    Hi,

    I never installed this plugin nor used it, nor does my theme or server need it. But we keep getting an error – FIVE TIMES I’ve had to go on the server and delete this plugin, only to have it return the next day. Plus, the plugin is generally hidden, it took a long time to figure out where to find it. What the heck is going on???

    Hi @squinx,

    I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue. From previous reports we had of similar issues this is happening because some bad actors gained access to your website admin through leaked credentials.

    We recommend that you immediately update passwords for all administrator users and make sure the combination of username/password is not used on any other website.

    Remove any administrator users you do not recognise.

    Finally, since you were not using WPCode before, use the WPCode Safe Mode by adding ?wpcode-safe-mode=1 to your wp-admin URL to access the WPCode settings, enable the option to delete all WPCode settings and uninstall the plugin from the Plugins page.
