WP-cron.php chewing up CPU time

    What are the chances the coders of WP will find a solution to wp-cron.php running frequently and using excess server time? When I think I have the problem fixed, the next update over-rides my patches and I end up with the same problem.

    If anyone has a “permanent” solution, please pass it along.
