    Hi there,

I am using WP Astra theme, with Elementor and ForumWP. The page which lists the forums works, looks ok, but when I click on a forum I just get what has been entered into the content of forum but no posts, it’s like the default templates aren’t being loaded. Any ideas what to do next?

  • Hello @dooza

Are you overriding forumwp templates from your theme? Or have you created a custom template for single forum?

Hi @aswingiri no templates added to the child theme, I even tried copying them all over, didn’t work, so then copied the themes page.php template and renamed it for the single cpt, again didn’t work.

    Hello @dooza

Please remove the single template for cpt and navigate to wp-admin > settings > permalink and see if that fixes the issue.

Hi @aswingiri , I have tried that and it didn’t make any difference. Viewing topics also has the same issue. It seems only pages with shortcode work, the plugins CPT pages don’t seem to work.

Hi @aswingiri , I just switched to the Twenty Twenty-Five and the forum page works, so it’s something to do with the Astra theme.

Hi @aswingiri , I did some more tests. Kept Astra active, disabled all plugins, and the page worked, and slowly enabled the plugins untiI I found the one causing the issue… Yoast SEO!

Hi @aswingiri , I was able to get Yoast SEO working, but I had to disabled Open Graph Data and X Card Data in Yoast. No idea why that would stop ForumWP from working correctly. Maybe something to look into?

    Hello @dooza

Thank you for letting us know how you managed to solve the issue. We will definitely look into the issue and add a solution in the future versions.

Hi @aswingiri I have been talking to the WP Astra devs and they have confirmed it is an issue with the theme and are working on a fix.

@dooza You just saved me so much troubleshooting time. I was having this issue also and disabled those yoast settings. I just wanted to note that I’m using the OceanWP theme not Astra.
