After the WP 7 upgrade, I could not add images to a saved layout – not sure if this related to the upgrade:

“Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”

Initially, it would just spin and never save. I disabled the htaccess file for this site and this error occurred

I was getting permission errors before I disabled the .htaccess file and then the json errors after.

Hello,

I tested to reproduce this error but couldn’t find any issues. I’m using the latest WordPress version and plugin, with all other plugins disabled and the 2022 theme installed and activated.

System folders may have incorrect permissions. This issue can occur due to various reasons. You can find some common causes and solutions in these resources:
