Works wonderful

Works great, is versatile and easy to use. You can customize it pretty much to do anything you want. I have a multi-site. It does work on multi-site but you will have to give each subsite their own settings for ad-inserter. You want to do this anyway so you can customize channel’s ads to match the color schemes. You won’t have to reinstall ad-inserter for each channel, just set the custom settings and put in the ads in each channel.
