Working as designed??

Restriction

• General
  • User Status: Logged in Users
  • User Role: One Matching Role is set
• Protection: Redirect to Login & Back
• Content: Page with one specific Category

Scenario:

User attempts to access the restricted page and is redirected to login page.

User logs in BUT does not have the required role.

Result:

User is redirected back to login page – with no explanation of why they are being returned to the login page.

Question:

Is this working as designed? I feel like I’m missing something here. I realize that I could redirect to a custom URL telling the user to login first. But, then, what’s the point of offering Login & Back in this context?
