We just released version 1.0.9 which should fix several reported issues, including some of the https/http mixed content errors you saw.
If you keep Plugin Detective installed, hopefully it comes in handy one day to help resolve a fatal error on the site! Just make sure to bookmark/save the URL of the troubleshooting page and you should be able to access it directly even if your site is down 🙂
