Hi @officewife,
Could you please let me know how did you initiate your WordPress installation stepwise?
Here is a link to installing WordPress.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress
Please let me know if you did not find my answer helpful and can question me whatever you feel like asking.
Thank you.
Best Regards.
Good morning Alok,
Thank you for getting back to me, I used the new website address supplied by the host. They are using a Microsoft based hosting. I entered the link they provided, entered the info request for the db, that is when I got that message about the entry.
When I check the db there is nothing there. I cannot get past that error.
Have not tried today, no time, off to another client’s.
I had to change the status of the user, for full control/access. I still got that message.
I changed the db host to the IP address get that message I mentioned.
Using Localhost I get an error that says cannot connect to the db, did you check user, etc.
I am stuck.
I have to get my client’s site up. I need help with this. Cannot find anything in the documentation.
Suggestions? Other than I sent a trouble ticket to the host.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
I state before I am installing a Microsoft IIS. The link to install is set up like this: http://alpha and numerical.c83.name of the hosting company.com/
I have triple checked the dbase info, location, etc. Still cannot get this installed.
I checked the wp config file, looks clean and right.

Hi @officewife,
Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, you are right. The DB_HOST is supposed to be an IP(MYSQL Host name) of your database provider. It is not necessary that it should always be an IP. It can be a name like something.domain.com.
When you hit the url, is it still giving Error establishing a database connection even when you changed the DB_HOST?
Can you tell me the exact error that is showing when you hit the url?
Your above explanations are quite not clear for ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Can you please elaborate more precisely your stepwise configuration that you made on wp-config.php? But make sure you do not publicize your credentials here.
Thank you.
Best Regards.
I sent a help request to the hosting company, he had no trouble installing, so replied with request of what he used and copied the info he gave me to use.
Will see what he has to say. This host is my client’s choice, not mine, I do not like their service and lack of information they provide.
Thank you for your help.
I never got past the first step for install, I copied the exact message in my previous note.
Thank you again.
Not a problem @officewife. We are always willing to help here.
I guess you must be doing the right steps for installation. It can be the credentials that your hosting server provided to you.
If anything comes up, feel free to post here.
Thank you.
Best Regards.
