Noticed, started getting this warning in our error logs from time to time.

We use the WP Crontrol plugin, so not sure if this is related to a cron task running.

    Here is the warning:

WordPress database error Commands out of sync; you can’t run this command now for query SELECT RELEASE_LOCK(‘aioseo_add_is_object_column’) made by AIOSEO\Plugin\Common\Utils\Database->{closure:AIOSEO\Plugin\Common\Utils\Database::acquireLock():1891}, AIOSEO\Plugin\Common\Utils\Database->releaseLock

Have this Cron Schedule in WP Crontrol showing under “events with no action”

aioseop_cron_check_remote_notices (Action: !None), showing with next run tomorow.

Not sure if this should be paused or deleted, and whether this could be related to the above issue?

Also not sure what aioseop_cron_check_remote_notices was originally used for?

I’m guessing properly not, but thought it worth mentioning.

    Kind Regards,

    Andy

    Hi @andrew1977,

    Regarding the aioseop_cron_check_remote_notices cron:

Yes, you can delete this. The aioseop_ prefix (note the “p” at the end) confirms this is a legacy event from version 3 of our plugin. It is no longer needed in the current version.

Regarding the “Commands out of sync” error:

This error indicates that the plugin is having trouble completing a database update.

Taking this error together with the legacy cron and the action_scheduler issues you mentioned in your other thread, it looks like your site may have some leftover data from the old version 3 that didn’t fully migrate to version 4.

We suspect you may need to rerun the migration process to clean this up permanently.

Since this involves database operations, we would prefer to guide you through it directly to ensure it’s done safely.

Please contact us via our support form so we can take a closer look: https://aioseo.com/contact/

In the meantime, please take a full backup and then delete that legacy cron event.

    Kind regards,
