@lorelle
Thanks for the pointers.
I do know about them. What I am looking for is an architecture document, detailing the system as a whole, control flow etc.
By “post loop” I meant the sql query to create $posts. The actual loop is executed later.
Hi,
I have also spent the last couple of days searching for a system architecture for WordPress.
I am looking for a schematic that details a system design, information flows, use cases etc with technology elements included in it.
Need it ASAP as I am using wordpress for a major assignment building a web system and although I have got it up and running am clueless as to the system architecture etc.
I believe WordPress does not have such thing you guys looking for.
What open source software you guys know of that has such documentation?
This might not have the information you may be looking for, but it also might. I’m still looking for more information specific to this, but this may get you started:

Thanks Guys – any more process flow type documents available?
@lorelle and others.
What I have seen so far (from the links above and otherwise) is not what we are looking for. The text flow covers a miniscule portion of the architecture. Actually I am planning to write up a brief architecture document, unless there are someone else volunteering for the job. Anyone?
It’s not a full architecture document, but this draft documents the flow of code through a WordPress request.
