WordPress 5.0 and Server Resources

    This plugin was installed on a client site that is up-to-date on WordPress 5.0+. Once a campaign was run, the plugin used excessive server resources and the hosting company shut the site down. Only deactivating and removing the plugin could solve the problem. 2 questions: will the plugin be updated to work with WordPress 5? And any idea why it would use excessive server resources?
