Using Safari on a Mac and following the Duplicator instructions, I migrated an installation of WordPress from the root of the site to a new empty directory (empty database created in cPane). All seemed OK so I deleted the original site. Then I clicked the Backup Now button in UpdraftPlus. That returned a missing string error, and after that none of the pages will load. Chrome reports a 500 error.

I’m going to start over.

OK, well, starting over by re-uploading the archive and installer did not work. The installer page comes up blank.

Thanks for the feedback! There are a few items in the FAQ that may provide a solution to this issue, this one may get you going.

– The installer is showing blank/white, 403, 404 or a 500 error?

Turns out the problem wasn’t Duplicator. In the parent directory was a file I forgot to delete which was trying to call a WordFence routine for an installation no longer there. So, all better now and brilliant!
