• I’ve just tested this plugin but regardless of whether I select GD or ImageMagik, the watermark isn’t saved on the image.

If I go into ‘Media’, click ‘Apply Watermark’, it does show the watermark in place correctly, but when I refresh the page, the watermark isn’t being saved to the image.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi sergeantash,

I’m 99% sure this is because your browser cashes downloaded images.
If you open the image in a new tab and hit CTRL+F5 you should see the actual image instead of the cached version of you browser. This will also refresh the browser cache for that image.

Unfortunately this is not something that can be “fixed” unless you completely disable cache in you HTTP headers and browser which I don’t recommend.

99% wrong Jory unfortunately. I’m a web guy and fully understand browser caching but it isn’t that. The images aren’t committed/saved in my instance 🙁

p.s. If I enable ‘Automatic Watermarking On Upload’, then the watermarks are applied perfectly to the uploaded images, the issue only appears to be applying watermarks to existing images.

@jory, I just uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it and it is now working perfectly? Could this have perhaps been a permissions issue or similar?

Ah…I take that back, now it’s actually blanking images (turning them white) in some cases when I apply the watermark, if I remove the watermark I’m still left with a blank image 🙁

Sadly, I just can’t trust this plugin, it is too unpredicable and has now caused me to lose an image which I’ll have to manually replace.

If the developers are interested, we could do a screenshare to try to troubleshoot this issue?

    Hi @sergeantash,

Sorry for my late reply, I didn’t got any notifications (WP forums is under heavy maintenance for a while).

    – Do you get any errors?
    – Or see any errors in the logs?
    – Did you by accident applied a watermark on your watermark image (sounds silly, but happend to me and got some weird results..)
    – Are the libraries correctly installed on your server? ( imagick or gd )
