Currently it is just a data visualizer with little actionable tasks. Key elements that would help integration with Good Merchant Center to meet all expectations it requires (er, demands) would be nice. Especially your narrow POV of returns policies, necessary payment services, and Google reviews. There is zero room for nuance or merchant/service specific needs as you must assimilate to a predefined checkbox list of specifics that are unrealistic to the needs of a business, and often ignore reality. And all of this leads to an added expense of the business that migrates to COGS. Insist upon a relaxed return policy – increase prices. As a tiny business trying to make it easy for good customers to shop with us, avoid scammers, and give a solid easy to navigate experience does not meet Google’s demands and leads to us getting downgraded. So, you have room to make things a lot better for real small businesses that can’t ever compete with Amazon and Walmart – so stop expecting us to!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the plugin @jlpogonotrophics, and sorry to hear you’re too satisfied at present. For site owners making use of Google Merchant Center, you’re correct that there is no integration within Site Kit, with one of the reasons being that there are other plugins that provide such a feature. One such plugin that can be used if you’re a WooCommerce user is the Google for WooCommerce plugin.

If you wish to share more details of what you would like to see within Site Kit in relation to Google Merchant Center integration, I’d be happy to open a feature request for the team to review over on the plugins GitHub repository. The more users do share such feedback, the more weight it adds when considering expanding the features within Site Kit.

Sorry to hear of your thoughts. Small business account for a huge portion of Site Kit users. The intention of the plugin is to make it easy to connect various Google services on their site, including tools to drive traffic to their site with Google Ads, analyzing user behavior on their site with Google Analytics, allowing for easier custom sign in and registration with Sign in with Google and making it easy to add prompts for newsletters and more with Reader Revenue Manager. It would be great to capture more details on what you would like to see integrated, so I can add more details to this in the form of a feature request. Thank you!
