    Hi,

I just activated Wordfence Firewall with the help of my host Siteground. Currently using your free version. The firewall has been successfully activated, except when I look at the Diagnostics, it says “WAF subdirectory installation No” . Everything else seems to be in place.

    WAF auto prepend active Yes
    WAF storage engine (WFWAF_STORAGE_ENGINE) (default)
    WAF log path ~/wp-content/wflogs/
    WAF subdirectory installation No
    wordfence-waf.php path /home/customer/www/mydomainname.com/public_html/wordfence-waf.php

The php.ini file is applied to all subdirectories through the following line in my htaccess: SetEnv PHPRC /home/customer/www/mydomainame.com/public_html/php.ini

I have a single website in a single directory without any other sites. Does “WAF subdirectory installation” part still needs to be a “Yes”?
How long does the firewall take to come into effect? I checked my site on https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/ and it’s not detected my firewall.

    I appreciate your help.

Sorry for the wait. I have responded to your email with the questions you’ve raised. Please kindly respond there and I will answer any further questions you have.

In this case, the WAF subdirectory installation will not need to say yes and will correctly say no, as you have a single site. If there were a second WordPress site with Wordfence installed on the server and you were extending the firewall, you may then see Yes for this option depending on the structure.

    Thanks,
    Scott
