visual composer no longer works

I recently updated my site to the most current woocommerce and now visual composer no longer works when I am trying to edit or create a new enhanced category page. I can see visual composer but when I select an element nothing happens. I have to manually close the visual composer dialog box and then I can see it ‘looks’ like it added the chosen element, but when I update/save everything gets erased. Visual composer works totally fine on all other pages, posts, etc. It just is not working with Enhanced Category Plugin. Really need some help on this.
