VFB won’t upload a .stl type file. It uploads others. But, when I try to upload a .stl file, it goes through the motions showing the transfer and then when you go to the upload folder, it’s simply not there.

Sorry. There are 2 uploads on the page. The VFB upload is the bottom one.

Go figure. The other file upload started working again. So, I’ve removed the VFB file upload. However, if anyone has any information about why it won’t upload a .stl file, please let me know.

Hi,

WordPress only allows certain file types to be upload, but the good news is that you can add or modify these settings. Here is an article that explains what MIME types are and how you can go about adding special file types to be uploaded through WordPress: https://wpengine.com/support/mime-types-wordpress/

I recommend you use a plugin such as WP Add Mime Types or WP Extra File Types
