    I thought this was exactly what I was looking for but no. The full instruction of “Edit any post, page, tag or category to set a custom permalink.” is just not enough!!! When I change the permalink it gives me an error 404. Load of bollocks.

    did you try reaching out to support? every wordpress environment is different due to things like server/hosting, not to mention compatibility with other third party plugins, themes. this plugin worked perfectly for me and my site is running 22 plugins, so i would try to do some troubleshooting before leaving a 1 star review. this plugin helped me a lot.
