Verification Links

I recently started using VerveSSL which seemed to be working great until I noticed that it doesn’t work correctly with user registration verification links.

I use Register Plus Redux to send users a verification link to their email that they need to click, this is in the format:

https://website/wp-login.php?action=verifyemail&verification_code=WfEkYS0iEJFUNOqUuIWR

However, with VerveSSL when you visit that link the page seems to get processed twice and although the account is activated the user ends up with an error message that the account has already been activated. If I disable VerveSSL this doesn’t happen. The URL turns to lowercase with VerveSSL enabled, almost as if it’s redirecting to https even though it already is.

I could understand if it was a HTTP link, but as the URL is already HTTPS I’m not sure why the plugin is “redirecting” it back to itself?
