Hello,
The fatal error is known from the Beaver Builder team and according to my information, the version 1.5.2.4 should fix the issue.
The issue reported in https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fatal-error-after-updating-to-verison-3-8-from-3-7-8/ is on our side and occurs when the WordPress cache is not working as expected. We plan to release a fix soon.
The same occurs with BeTheme and Polylang: Polylang prevents query from fetching posts on pages. Deactivating Polylang brought the posts back but is of course not a proper fix, just a quick on for now.
