On one of our customers’ websites, after updating to version 2.9.14 today, WordPress disabled the field for assigning one or more roles in the user profile.

Now, if we need to manually assign one or more roles to a user, there’s no way to do anything.

What can we do? Could you please release the patch with a new update or tell us where to find the previous version so we can roll back? Thanks.

    Good day, @ailiaitalia,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Since this is from a new update, we would like to take a closer look at this behavior. Would you please open a ticket on our support platform here?

Kindly include as much details as you can while opening the ticket.

We appreciate your understanding and talk to you soon.

What was done to resolve this?
I have many different user roles in my installation and am hesitant to update this plugin based on this post.

I am at version 2.9.16 and this problem still exists. Totally preventing me from letting users see any restricted pages. Help!

To add to that, Not only does check the box on the user page disappear when manually saving, but I made the user role I created the default role and when a new user registers, they are defaulting to Subscriber instead.
