User Products

I’ve had a request to let some of my shop managers add/edit some of their own products. I can see the User Products module which will allow me to do this however i’m having issues. Firstly I set it to be only used by a customer role yet the link is visible to all users still. Then when i click the link using the correct user profile nothing shows but a blank screen.
