Upgrade User

Hi,
I have users who belong to a Basic user group. Now I would like to give these users the option of upgrading to a “Pro group” via another form in the user area where they should fill in additional information.However, when I add an Ultimate Member form that registers the “Pro User Group”, it is not displayed in the user are, because the user is already logged in. Instead the message “You are already registered.” appears.
How can I give existing users the opportunity to upgrade and submit additional data?
