Updraft Plus backup got stuck

I am trying to run back up from UpdraftPlus but I noticed that it keeps on running from past 2 hrs without any progress. It is basically hanged with message showing as “next resumption : 1(after -9076s)” and the time keeps on progressing. Just to let you know I am using PHP Version 7.4.26 and I don’t find any error in the Updraftplus logs. Please let me know if you need the complete log to check this issue.

Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the latest full backup log?

This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

Hi,

Can you try and update the plugin to the latest version?
And re-run the backup process.

No, it doesn’t. I have updated to latest 1.22.22 version and tried multiple times. It does not help at all. It is getting stuck again and again with no response.

Don’t you think this is a litespeed hosting related problem? I saw @yateendra88 logs and he’s also using litespeed server.

Hi,

Apologies for the delay.

If you are on a Litespeed server please check this FAQ: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-am-having-trouble-backing-up-and-my-web-hosting-company-uses-the-litespeed-webserver/

I would also recommend reducing the archive split size. To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 50Mb save your settings and run a new process.

Lastly, make sure you are using the latest version 1.22.22.

My “split archives every” option is set to 25 MB. Do I need to set it to 50MB or is it fine ? As I said earlier, I have already updated UpdraftPlus to 1.22.22.

25mb is the smallest possible and that is fine.
Can you send us latest copy of the backup log please? The last one you sent is still showing the previous version.

Apologies for the late reply.

I would suggest asking your host/server admin to increase the maximum_execution_timeout to 300s. If they could also increase the site memory and I/O limit on your server it would help as UpdraftPlus has been designed to be dependent on your server resources.
