When I checked the cloned site, none of the plugins nor the active (and related) theme from the site got loaded. I did the clone basically to check whether some plugins would work with WP 6.9 and whether there were any other possible issues with WP 6.9 and PHP 8.4, but this doesn’t do me any good…. no plugins (except UpdraftPlus, of course) and the few basic WP themes with WP 6.9. BASICALLY USELESS.

This is what the site should look like: https://www.rabbishefagold.com/

I’ll probably dump the clone rather quickly rather than using up a token for this useless clone.

    Hi,

If the clone loads without your plugins and theme, it usually means the restore did not finish completely.

Please log in to the clone’s WordPress dashboard and check if you see a “Continue restoration” button. If it’s there, click it and allow the restore to complete.

If there is no option to continue, please try creating a new clone. Before doing so, reduce the split archive size in UpdraftPlus > Settings (for example, to 50 MB), take a fresh backup, and then create the clone again. Smaller backup parts are less likely to fail during transfer.

If the problem happens again, please share the clone log so we can take a closer look.

    Best wishes,

Thanks for responding. Because the clone was useless as is and I didn’t want to waste ‘paying’ a token for the useless clone, I deleted it. I guess I’ll just take my chances with upgrading to WP 6.9 when I get around to it.

(The last time I used the clone feature prior to a significant WP update, I didn’t have any problem at all, so I was surprised this time.)

    Hi,

This issue is not something we’re allowed to troubleshoot in detail on the WordPress.org support forum. Please submit a ticket here so we can properly review the clone logs.

    Thanks for your understanding.
