Today I was notified that the WP-Forms plugin had an update available. I updated the plugin, and all seemed to proceed normally, however the admin menu is now missing WP-Forms item and all my forms are not displayed on my site!

WP-FormsLite is still listed in my installed plugins list.

I ended up reinstalling the plugin and forms are back, but now my installed plugins list has TWO WP-Forms Lite entries.

    Hi @proximitas,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m really sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues after updating WPForms Lite.

The good news is that your forms are safely stored in your site’s database, so you won’t lose any of your work.

Here’s what I’d recommend to get things back on track: uninstall both WPForms Lite, then do a fresh reinstall of the plugin. This should bring back all your forms and ensure you have just one installation of WPForms Lite on your site.

Before you uninstall though, there’s one important thing to check — please make sure that “Uninstall WPForms” is turned OFF in WPForms > Settings > Misc. If you’d like more details about these settings, you can check out our complete guide to WPForms Misc Settings.

I hope this helps resolve the issue! If you run into any trouble or have more questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to help!

    Thanks!

Hello, Sorry about the delay. Finally had time today to give your suggestion a try. Deactivated both entries in the Plugins Screen, then deleted both in the Plugins Screen. With the Uninstall WPForms turned off in the WPForms Settings as instructed.

Then I installed a New Plugin>WPForms and Activated it. Still no WPForms in the Admin Menu. Installing and activating it a SECOND TIME again the WPForms shows up in the Admin Menu. BUT now I have TWO entries in the Plugins Screen again as before!

One instance (the first install) just says WPForms with Deactivate underneath it followed by the expected information in the Description column, the other (second install) says WPForms with Get WPForms Pro | Settings | Docs | Deactivate, again followed by the expected information in the Description column.

I have confirmed that there is only one WPForms directory in the Plugins directory on my server and I do not see anything duplicated there.

It should also be noted that after the first install no forms appear on the website until I install the plugin the second time.

    Hi @proximitas,

Thanks so much for sharing those details!

It’s definitely quite surprising that WPForms Lite only seems to work after installing it twice. That’s not typical behavior at all.

When you get a chance, could you please share the information from WPForms > Tools > System Info (screenshot)? This may help us try to replicate the issue and get a better understanding of what you’re experiencing.

    Thanks!

UPDATE: Installed the new version today. After the screen refresh the extra WPForms entry in the plugins list went away. So, no Idea what happened but it’s fixed now. Maybe it was aliens or sunspots, LOL.
