Uninstalling Akismet

    Hi,

    I have no idea where Akismet came from – it just appeared in my admin as a plugin, already active!

    I don’t have posts, etc – it’s all web site pages only, so I’ve no use for it. I deactivated it and then tried to delete it only to get the response “Could not fully remove the plugin akismet/akismet.php”.

    I’ve also gone to my FTP to delete it, with the response “permission denied”.

    It’s no problem just sitting, but every time I see it in my plugins, it annoys the hell out of me.

    Anyone got a clue?

    You’ll need to contact your Web host. It sounds like it was pre-installed for you but with incorrect permissions, preventing you from removing it.
