Unexpected Error

Hi –
I recently upgrade my WordPress site to 4.1 and since then the site is having some trouble. Most noticeably it’s downloading very slowly but also when I login to the Dashboard, after waiting a while, I get this message at the top of the page:

“Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/chask3/public_html/wp-includes/update.php on line 295”
