Unable to add customer to WordPress

    Hello,

    I am new to Woocommerce. To add a new client, I understand that I need to add it as user at WordPress>Users. I did it. But, when clicking on Woocommerce>Customers it will result in error “There was an error getting your stats. Please try again”

    Any advice is welcome on how to fix this issue so I can see my Customers in Woocommerce.

I understand you’re encountering an error when trying to view customers under WooCommerce > Customers, even after creating them manually under WordPress > Users.     You’re absolutely right that you can add new customers manually by going to WordPress > Users and assigning them the “Customer” role. Just to confirm, what user role did you assign when creating the user? It’ll help us confirm whether the role setup is part of the issue.

    You’re absolutely right—WooCommerce customers are added as WordPress users (usually with the Customer role), so using Users > Add New is the correct way to go.

    Now, about that error message you’re seeing—“There was an error getting your stats. Please try again.”—this usually relates to the WooCommerce Analytics system. It can sometimes be caused by plugin conflicts, outdated data, or server configuration issues.

    Let’s walk through a few steps to help get this sorted out:

    • Temporarily deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, then check if the issue still occurs. This helps rule out any conflicts.
    • Head to WooCommerce > Status > Tools, and find the Clear analytics cache option. Click Clear to refresh the data—this often resolves inconsistencies.
    • Go to Analytics > Settings, scroll to Import Historical Data, and double-check that all past data has been imported completely.
