The load_theme_textdomain function is present in the theme (in hoot-ubix\hybrid\inc\functions-i18n.php file along with all other language functions)
I can confirm that the translation is working. If you are directly adding po/mo files, then they should be placed in theme’s language folder
i.e. wp-content > themes > hoot-ubix > languages
Also, they should be properly named using locales. For example fr_FR.po and fr_FR.mo for french language in France
We do highly recommend using a plugin like LocoTranslate and use the plugin to create the files outside the theme folder.
The plugin will automatically create the po/mo files for you with proper names and in proper locations.

Thanks for your quick answer. You are right, putting the po and mo file in languages directory works…but it’s the parent theme directory, not the child theme one. So I suppose I will have to put again the files when I’ll update the theme.
I tested Loco and it recognized the translation files…in child theme languages directory.

Mon site est prêt à être mis en ligne il ne manque plus que quelques traductions des mots anglais encore visible par l’utilisateur.
