Traditional Chinese Filename Conversion

    When using ‘Modern Image Formats’ to convert images to WebP, the image file names ignore Traditional Chinese characters.

    Especially when the Chinese characters are at the beginning of the file name.

    Upload file name : 你好abc.jpg
    Converted file name : abc.jpg.webp

    Thanks for reaching out @roywuu. I’ve been performing some tests and I’m unable to replicate the same (see this example). As this may be related to your environment, please share the your Site Health information and we can inspect your environment. You can share privately using this form if preferred.

    After sharing your Site Health information, you may also wish to check whether JPEG to WebP conversion works as expected with Chinese characters from this disposable WordPress site which will have the Modern Image Formats extension active.
